Many people are being sued for credit card debt because they have not been paying the credit card bills on time and the amount is pending for long time. This non payment of credit card debt is a result of financial crisis that people are going through; they do not have money to lead a normal life, how can they even think of making the payments for their credit card. But your lender is not interested in your story and wants to recover as much money as possible from you.
Here are some tips to avoid being sued for non payments of credit card debt:
· You should plan your budget in such a way that all your unnecessary expenses are excluded from the schedule. All these extra expenses holds you back in making your payments on time. Believe it or nor, if you cut down on your expenses, your ability to pay the debt will increase. Make a point to avoid all that extra expenditure on the stuff which is not needed and is only a part of luxury.
· Make your credit card payments on time. It is advised that you always pay the minimum amount due on your card to get rid of any additional charges that may be charged on your card in form of late payment etc which may turn into heavy debt. So always be punctual in making the payments on time to avoid being sued for credit card debt.
· You keep a reserve of money which is somehow equal to 8 months of your living expense. This may sound a bit irritating, but we are giving you enough time to save this money. All this can help you in your bad times to pay off your debt if you get into a situation where you do not have money to pay your bills.

I think the credit industry needs more regulation. I think the credit companies do a lot of underhanded stuff. The interest rates are way to high, and they want you to default so they can raise the rates even higher. Something has to be done some sore of change.

I have about 18k in credit card debt and am now unemployed. I have around 50k in my 401k. Since I’ll be paying taxes on the 401k if I were to start using it at retirement age, what’s the difference if I take the tax hit now and pay off expensive credit cards with their interest rates?
